5 Lessons I Learnt in 2018

Hey everyone!

I know i haven’t posted in a long time. I’ve just been so occupied with other stuff and it was hard to find time to blog (I need to learn how to balance my time more and be consistent here- New Years resolution). But anyways, i am back with another blog post on the 5 Lessons i Learnt in 2018.

I hope some of you can learn from these lessons or reflect on some of them. Please feel free to share some of the lessons that you learnt in 2018 (I’m curious).

I also posted a video on this topic on my New Youtube Channel. Please check it out 5 LESSONS I LEARNT IN 2018

  1. Sometimes things will not always go as planned.

I know having a plan is always a major key. But sometimes, you may find out that things are not going according to how you thought they would go. I know it may be disappointing to you when that happens, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on your goal or change your goal completely. You just have to give yourself some time to adjust to the new way in which things are going. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, you will reach the final outcome that is meant to be yours even if the initial plan that you had before has taken a turn.

2. Do not distance yourself from God.

This year taught me that i should learn to be closer to God. Sometimes life gets so overwhelming to a point where we forget to pray. Prayer and having a relationship with God is extremely important. You don’t want to be that type of person who only prays during bad times only or when something has gone wrong. This year has taught me that you need to be consistent when it comes to prayer and having that spiritual relationship with God. If you feel distanced from God because you aren’t able to go to church for example, then do something that will help fix that  gap. A lot of bible apps exist today and daily devotional books are available in stores. I believe that these help you to take some time off, read and gain wisdom and understanding from Gods word.

3. Do not keep sharing your goals.

“Work hard in silence, let  success be your noise”- a quote by Frank Ocean that really means a lot to me. It simply tells you to move towards your goals a quietly as possible and when you finally reach your goal, that success, that horaaay moment will be your noise and everyone will know you made it.  If you keep sharing your goals and the steps you take to move towards these goals, there will be certain people out there that only want to see you fail. These may be people that you may think support you, but they don’t.

4. Learn to accept a compliment.

Leaning to say “thank you” after you receive a genuine complement is key. If you reply with hesitation when you receive a compliment, this messes with your self confidence. Try to say “thank you” and see how good that will make you feel,

5. Learn to save money.

Saving money is something i struggle with. I can save but i just don’r save as much as i initially planned to save. It’s a habit i want to discontinue especially moving into 2019. My older sister saved money this year and she did a lot with her savings. This inspired me to do the same next year.

So these are the 5 lessons i learnt in 2018. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and i hope that everyone has a blessed new year to come.

Happy Holidays
